This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
1. Information we collect
When you use Synctia, we may collect:
- Uploaded files — the audio or video files you upload for caption generation.
- Account information — if you sign in via Canva or another connected account, we receive the basic profile information necessary to authenticate you.
- Usage data — basic technical data such as browser type, device type, and general usage patterns, used to maintain and improve the service.
2. How we use uploaded files
Uploaded audio and video files are sent to our processing infrastructure (including third-party cloud processing and storage providers) solely for the purpose of generating captions and, where applicable, an exported video. We do not use your uploaded content to train AI models, and we do not sell or share your uploaded files with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Retention and deletion
Uploaded audio and video files, and the outputs generated from them, are automatically deleted from our storage and processing systems within 24 hours of upload. This applies whether or not you have downloaded the result. We do not retain your files for longer than this window.
4. Third-party processors
We use third-party infrastructure providers (such as cloud compute and storage services) to process and temporarily store uploaded files on our behalf. These providers act only on our instructions and are contractually bound to handle data securely.
5. Your rights
If you are located in the UK or EU, you have rights under the UK GDPR / EU GDPR, including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, and the right to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at invest@synctia.uk.
6. Data security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect uploaded files and personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's privacy
Synctia is not directed at children and is not knowingly used to collect personal data from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
