Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 19 September 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Synctia, a service operated by Synctia Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17285447), with its registered office at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom ("Synctia", "we", "us", "our"). By using Synctia, whether through synctia.uk, the Synctia app on Canva, or any related service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

Synctia analyses audio and video files you upload and generates timed lyric captions using automated speech recognition and synchronisation technology. The service is provided "as is" and results may vary depending on the audio quality, language, and content of the file you upload.

2. Your content

You retain all rights to the audio and video files you upload. By uploading a file, you confirm that you own the content or have the necessary rights and permissions to use it, and to have it processed by Synctia. You are solely responsible for the content you upload and for ensuring it does not infringe any third party's rights.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Synctia to process content that is unlawful, infringing, or that you do not have the right to use. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the service for any user found to be in breach of these Terms.

4. Free and paid plans

Synctia offers a free tier with limited functionality (including a watermark on exported video) and paid plans that unlock additional features such as watermark removal, higher processing quality, and extended export options. Pricing and plan details are available on synctia.uk and are subject to change with reasonable notice.

5. Accuracy and limitations

Synctia uses AI-based speech recognition, which is not perfect. Captions generated by the service may occasionally be inaccurate, mistimed, or incomplete, particularly for sung vocals, overlapping speech, or heavily processed audio. You are responsible for reviewing generated captions before publishing or relying on them.

6. Intellectual property

The Synctia name, logo, and underlying technology (including its synchronisation methods) are the property of Synctia Ltd. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights to our intellectual property beyond what is necessary to use the service as intended.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Synctia Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or reputational harm resulting from inaccurate captions.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Synctia after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Contact
